What weighs on Grade 10 students’ green consciences? In May, Franke took the train to Belleville, Ontario to find out. She gave a Green Conscience Workshop to the Grade 10 Geoventure students at Moira High School (featured above). The workshop was a big success. The students really responded to the challenge to create artwork based on their personal experiences. In a follow up email, the teacher sent Franke this feedback, “The kids really did enjoy the workshop as it challenged their thinking and actions. One of the kids today came in after lunch and said, “You know Ms. Miller, I was about to throw away my pop bottle (plastic) and then I heard a voice in my head say I needed to recycle it. So I brought it to class.” Very cool. I guess this is why we do what we do.”
